Opened in 1973, Beaver Brook Ceramics is a multigenerational business. Current owner and operator Katie Cavanagh is third generation. Katie’s Grandmother (Beverly Beach) was looking for an off season source of income for the farm that allowed her to continue to develop her creativity and interest in ceramics. Shortly after Beverly opened the studio her daughter (Norma Callahan) a trained artist moved back to the farm and began working with her mom in the studio. Norma continues her work in the studio passing it on to the next generation Katie. Katie has been working part-time at the studio her entire life, although in 2011 after having her son she decided to make her extra time focused on the farm and studio. When Katie and Norma are not in the studio pouring or painting you can find them in the field planting or picking!
The studio is located on the Beaver Brook Farm in East Bridgewater, MA and is adjacent to the property’s original barn. In addition to classes, Beaver Brook Ceramics is a fully functioning studio that does onsite pouring and firing services.
Beaver Brook Ceramics has an extensive collection of molds that dates back to the beginning of the studio, offering our customers a diverse selection of pieces and some hard to find items.
